NO TESCO IN BRIDGWATER

Campaign group Bridgwater Forward are urging local people to lobby Sedgemoor District Council on Friday 28th January, when the Council meets to vote on the controversial bid to allow Tesco to build a superstore in Bridgwater's Town Centre.

Sally Jones
Chair Sally Jones said: " Tesco will destroy our town centre shops and facilities. Bridgwater needs a variety of retail outlets and more leisure facilities to attract incomers - not domination by a supermarket giant. We have too many supermarkets already, and the arrival of Tesco will be the deathknell for the town centre. We appeal to all Sedgemoor councillors to vote on Friday for the future of the town, and against the sale of the Northgate site to Tesco."
